WHAT WE DO

The association typically holds an annual barbecue plate fundraiser to support its scholarship program. Monetary donations made out to "O.H. Herman Alumni  Association" are accepted and can be mailed to P.O. Box 567, Van Vleck, Texas 77482. 

(The association is a 501(c)3 organization.)

Each year, funds raised by the association go right back into the community through scholarships and educational gifts. Local high school seniors are encouraged to apply for these funds as they are available to help them achieve a college education.

The annual scholarship banquet is held at a number of locations within the Van Vleck community including  Van Vleck Elementary School Cafeteria, Van Vleck Community Center,  and Van Vleck High School Cafeteria.  The event has also been held on the original O.H. Herman High School campus, which is currently known as O.H. Herman Junior High. The banquet services to celebrate current scholarship recipients and celebrate the history and contributions of the association.

Each year, we are in need of a positive role model connected in some way to the association to speak to our recent graduates and scholarship recipients. If you are interested in being considered, contact us at ohherman@yahoo.com.
